WeFarm was founded by Erdem Yıldız in 2022. The startup operates as an agricultural technology platform that transforms landowners’ fields into productive farms and offers regular rent and food payments to field owners.
The initiative draws attention especially by recording the production process of healthy food with blockchain technology and sharing it with consumers. WeFarm, which gained great momentum by increasing the farm size by 16 times in the last production year, is determined to make agriculture more efficient and sustainable. The initiative has become one of the fastest growing agriculture startups by supporting farmers and contributing to the healthy food supply chain.
Erdem Yıldız, the founder and CEO of the company, stated that they plan to become the first agricultural unicorn by putting only 2 percent of the empty fields in our country into production within 5 years. Moreover, he noted that they received applications for more than 10 thousand decares of land in the last 2 months alone. Yıldız stated that if the company continues at this pace, it will reach its goals before 5 years. He added that to achieve this, their most important priority is to train the next generation of farmers, and that they took action to establish an agriculture and technology camp with the investment they received in this direction.
