The best of the cinema and television world of 2023 were chosen at the 81st Golden Globe Awards. Although there were many winners in a total of 27 categories, no film or TV series received more awards than Oppenheimer.
Oppenheimer was awarded not only for Best Motion Picture – Drama, but also Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama (Cillian Murphy), Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture (Robert Downey Jr.), Best Director – Motion Picture ( Christopher Nolan) and Best Original Score – Motion Picture (Ludwig Göransson).
The HBO series Succession, which just completed its final season, won Best Television Series – Drama, Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama (Sarah Snook), Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama (Kieran Culkin) and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Television Series – Drama. He won Best Performance by an Actor (Matthew Macfadyen), placing him just behind Oppenheimer with four wins.
The Bear and BEEF won three awards each, while Poor Things, The Holdovers, Anatomy of a Fall and Barbie won two awards each.
