Apple explains what to do if your phone gets wet
In order to show the truth and prevent these wrong methods, Apple published a guide. In the guide, Apple explained what to do and what not to do when your iPhone gives a liquid detection warning.
According to Apple’s statement, in order to remove the liquid that has entered your phone, the phone must first be disconnected from the power, the phone should be placed in a flat position and kept in a dry area with air flow for at least 30 minutes. No other rescue method was included in the guide.
The phone should not be placed in rice
Of course, there are things that should not be done. One of these is “putting the phone in rice”, which is one of the most common drying methods among the public. Here’s Apple’s list of some don’ts:
- Do not dry your iPhone using an external heat source or compressed air.
- Do not insert a foreign object such as a cotton swab or paper towel into the charging port.
- Don’t put your iPhone in a bag full of rice. Doing so may cause small rice particles to damage your iPhone.
