Netflix, which increased the fee paid by its subscribers in Turkey twice in 2022, made the second increase in 2023 today. Netflix had increased its subscription prices in Turkey in recent months. Just a few months later, the digital broadcasting platform has once again increased its subscription prices in Turkey without any notification to its users. Following Netflix’s new price hike, subscription fees have increased by 50%.
Before the increase, the platform offered its users a basic plan for 63.99₺, a standard plan for 97.99₺ and a special plan for 130.99₺. Following the last increase of the platform, the basic package price increased from 63.99₺ to 99.99₺, the standard package price from 97.99₺ to 149.99₺ and the special package price from 130.99₺ to 199.99₺. Standard package: 149.99₺ per month (HD quality viewing on two devices)
Special package: 199.99₺ per month (Watching in Ultra HD quality on four devices)
The company’s website includes the following statements:
“New prices will be valid for our users who will become new members. This change will be rolled out gradually for all of our existing members. There may be more than one reason for this price increase. One of these could be rising global costs. However, there is currently no change in Netflix’s international prices. Therefore, the main reason for the price change is probably the increasing exchange rate in Turkey.
